LESSON 8:     Higher Thinking Skills Through IT-Based Projects

It is the students themselves who demonstrate higher thinking skills and creativity through such activities searching for information, organizing and synthesizing ideas, creating presentations and the like.

Four IT-based projects conducive to develop higher thinking skills and creativity among learners.

1. Resource-based Projects
2. Simple Creations
3. Guided Hypermedia Projects
4. Web-based Projects

However, that postings of webpages in the Internet allows the students a wider audience. They can also be linked with other related sites in the Internet. But as of now, this creativity project may be to ambitious as as tool in the teaching-learning process.

st students learn their lessons through rote or memorization with the teacher doing most of the expalining and understanding of the subject matter at hand.  This kind of teaching method does not help develop the student’s thinking skills or his ability to analyze and reflect.  Today, the educator realizes that students need to go outside the classroom and avail of the facilities of information technology and be on their own in their quest for information and to acquire knowledge.  There is so much to be learned about ourselves, our neighbors, our environment, our world, our history and  using the internet to achieve this goal is part of the integration of information technology to the educational system.

 

HIGHER THINKING SKILLS THROUGH IT-BASED PROJECTS

There are computer art projects for primary grade children

In this lesson ,the thinking skills of the students will develop into the higher steps of thinking with the help of the four IT-Based Projects.

As a future educators I realized that having these four IT- Based Project in my teaching is very important ,because the students able to create and decide in their own way,and by that the higher thinking skills of the students is develop step by step.


There are four IT-Based Projects ,but for me as an

elementary teacher someday,the best IT-Based Project for me is the “Simple creations”because in these project my students are able to draw ,paint and become a creative writer,because the elementary students are more fan in the drawing and painting,so I will let them do what they want to draw and paint with my guidance.

 By these kind of project my students are able to plan,make and design in their creative thinking,and one of the skills that being develop is analyzing. Because they able to analyze on how to make there project more creative.
